Seongsu

성수동

Seongsu-dong, in Seongdong-gu. Steel, printing, and wig factories had been built here by the 1970s, and the area was still a dense cluster of factories and warehouses into the early 2010s. It is now one of Seoul's trendiest neighborhoods: old red-brick factory and warehouse buildings house cafes, and the streets carry brand pop-ups and designer showrooms. Yeonmujang-gil, starting at Exit 4 of Seongsu Station (Line 2), is the center of the handmade shoe street. Seoul Forest is one stop away on the same line, at Exit 8 of Ttukseom Station.
