A K-pop album and merchandise shop inside AK PLAZA Hongdae, at the station exit. There is nothing to book and nothing to queue for at the door, so the two things that can actually go wrong are payment and the tax refund. The official Seoul tourism listing gives the address and hours but says nothing about accepted cards or whether the store is registered for instant refund — so do not plan around either.

No booking is involved in ordinary shopping, and the official Seoul listing has no reservation field at all. Lucky draw and pre-order benefit (POB) events may come with their own conditions, but none of the sources checked spell out how those are handled.
Payment
The official Seoul listing has no payment field. One K-pop shopping guide states that the major stores — Withmuu among them — take Visa, Mastercard and AMEX, Apple Pay where contactless is supported, and tourist cards such as Wowpass and NAMANE. That is a generalisation across several shops, not a check of this branch, so foreign card and Apple Pay are left unconfirmed here.

Tips
- Floors and exit number differ by source. The official Seoul tourism listing gives 2F, AK PLAZA Hongdae, 188 Yanghwa-ro, 12 m from Exit 5 of Hongik Univ. Station, and AK Plaza's own floor guide labels 2F as the fandom and accessories floor. A K-pop shopping guide instead puts the store across the 2nd and 3rd floors and points to Exit 4. Head for 2F and treat the upper floor as a possible extension.
- The refund, where it applies, runs before you pay rather than after: a K-pop shopping guide says to hand the cashier your physical passport, or a mobile passport such as Wowpass, and the VAT comes off the total on the spot. The official Seoul listing does not mark this store as a registered tax-refund shop, so ask at the register before the transaction, not once it is done.
- As described in the same guide, a lucky draw works like this: buying an album gets you a token, and the token goes into a machine that dispenses an exclusive PVC-printed unreleased photocard. It is tied to an album purchase, so merchandise alone does not get you in. Which artists have draws running changes over time and is not something the sources checked can tell you.
- The weekend opening is earlier, not later: per the official Seoul listing it is 11:00 Monday to Friday and 10:30 Saturday and Sunday, closing at 22:00 every day, with no regular closing day. Planning around an 11:00 start costs you half an hour at the weekend. It is a tenant inside a mall, so mall-wide schedule changes can override this.

AK플라자 홍대A five-floor mall at 188 Yanghwa-ro, in front of Hongik Univ. Station. AK Plaza's official page gives 11:00–22:00 on weekdays and 10:30–22:00 on weekends and public holidays; there was no closing day in September 2026. Floors run 1F daily lifestyle, 2F fandom and accessories, 3F street culture, 4F entertainment and 5F animation and culture. During opening hours it also works as a restroom stop by the station: Korea's accessible-tourism listing notes an accessible toilet and elevators.
Bongsan Jeongyuk
봉산정육A Hongdae meat house that says it hand-picks only 1++ Hanwoo and pork with 40%+ marbling, with staff grilling each cut for you. It opens every day from 12:00 to 23:00 with last order at 22:20, so a late dinner works — and corkage is free if you bring your own wine.
Gimbap Cheonguk Hongdae Main Branch
김밥천국 홍대본점A Gimbap Cheonguk branch at 55 Eoulmadang-ro. Its hours change by day, so whether it works for breakfast depends on the day: on Friday and Saturday nights it stays open until 09:00 the next morning, while Monday to Thursday it closes at 05:30 and reopens at 10:00. Gimbap starts at ₩4,000; visitors say ordering is by kiosk and it also sells soju and beer.
Manaolana
마나올라나A brunch cafe on Seongmisan-ro in Yeonnam-dong. Its DiningCode listing gives 07:00–18:00 every day, last order 17:00. The menu is breakfast food: a one-plate brunch, sandwiches, Greek yoghurt bowls and a potato soup. Apart from the 24-hour gimbap shops, it is the earliest opening in Hongdae and Yeonnam on any day of the week.
