KT&G Sangsangmadang Hongdae
KT&G 상상마당 홍대
A cultural complex opened by the tobacco company KT&G in September 2007. One building, seven storeys up and four down, holds a gallery (4–5F), a design square (1–2F), a live hall (B2) and a cinema (B4). Walking into the building itself costs no ticket, but the live hall and the cinema each sell through a different channel, and the official site is in Korean only. Each floor runs its own calendar, so decide which one you are going for and check that floor's schedule before you travel.

Reservation
Getting into the building needs no booking and no Korean number. The basement is another matter: live hall shows are listed under this venue on Interpark NOL Ticket and YES24 Ticket, and films are booked through the official site's own "예매하기" (book) flow. None of the sources checked state how far those routes are open to someone without Korean residency, so if a specific gig or screening is the reason for the trip, try to get all the way through payment before you go.
Payment
The Korea Tourism Organization's accessible-travel page gives the fee only as "varies by programme, see the website", so there is no confirmed price for the gallery or the cinema. Whether foreign cards or mobile payment work is not documented anywhere either.

Tips
- The live hall is on B2 and is registered as a venue under the name "KT&G 상상마당 홍대 라이브홀" on both Interpark NOL Ticket and YES24 Ticket. Individual shows are sold wherever the promoter chooses, so searching by the band or the gig title is more reliable than working from a venue page. As of 23 September 2026 the most recent live hall dates posted on the official site were "Monday Project Season 9: LIFE IS NOISE" (14 Sep 2026) and "三代: paranoid void 'Action' release tour in Seoul" (13 Sep 2026).
- The cinema on B4 screens independent and arthouse films; its number is +82-2-330-6243. Opening the official film page on 23 September 2026 showed "16 films currently screening" with booking and booking-check/cancel links attached. Titles and prices sit further inside the Korean-language pages and could not be confirmed here, so if a film is the point of the visit, open the schedule first.
- Both the Korea Tourism Organization's accessible-travel page and the Seoul Tourism Organization's English page give the building 11:00–21:00. On closing days they split: Seoul says open year-round, the Korea Tourism Organization says it varies by programme and refers you to the website. Because each floor runs its own exhibition, gig and screening calendar, the building's hours alone are not enough to tell you the floor you want will be open.
- The address is 65 Eoulmadang-ro, Mapo-gu (Seogyo-dong), postcode 04042, and the main line is +82-2-330-6200. Of the sources checked, only the Seoul Tourism Organization's English page gives an exit and a distance: Hapjeong Station (Lines 2 and 6) Exit 3, 760 m. None of them describe a route from Hongik Univ. Station.
- Per the official site the layout is: academy classrooms on 7F and 6F, gallery on 4–5F, lounge on 3F, design square on 1–2F, performers' green room on B1, live hall on B2, Sangsang Suite on B3 and the cinema on B4. The Korea Tourism Organization's accessible-travel page states that the main entrance is a step-free automatic door reachable by wheelchair, and that there is an accessible lift and an accessible toilet. Accessible parking is given as one space in the building's own car park plus two in nearby public car parks.

AK플라자 홍대A five-floor mall at 188 Yanghwa-ro, in front of Hongik Univ. Station. AK Plaza's official page gives 11:00–22:00 on weekdays and 10:30–22:00 on weekends and public holidays; there was no closing day in September 2026. Floors run 1F daily lifestyle, 2F fandom and accessories, 3F street culture, 4F entertainment and 5F animation and culture. During opening hours it also works as a restroom stop by the station: Korea's accessible-tourism listing notes an accessible toilet and elevators.
Bongsan Jeongyuk
봉산정육A Hongdae meat house that says it hand-picks only 1++ Hanwoo and pork with 40%+ marbling, with staff grilling each cut for you. It opens every day from 12:00 to 23:00 with last order at 22:20, so a late dinner works — and corkage is free if you bring your own wine.
Gimbap Cheonguk Hongdae Main Branch
김밥천국 홍대본점A Gimbap Cheonguk branch at 55 Eoulmadang-ro. Its hours change by day, so whether it works for breakfast depends on the day: on Friday and Saturday nights it stays open until 09:00 the next morning, while Monday to Thursday it closes at 05:30 and reopens at 10:00. Gimbap starts at ₩4,000; visitors say ordering is by kiosk and it also sells soju and beer.
Manaolana
마나올라나A brunch cafe on Seongmisan-ro in Yeonnam-dong. Its DiningCode listing gives 07:00–18:00 every day, last order 17:00. The menu is breakfast food: a one-plate brunch, sandwiches, Greek yoghurt bowls and a potato soup. Apart from the 24-hour gimbap shops, it is the earliest opening in Hongdae and Yeonnam on any day of the week.
